The importance of supporting and building local relationships brought the Southern Heartland Art Gallery and Piedmont Newton Hospital Art Collaboration to life.

Piedmont Newton Hospital approached Southern Heartland Art Gallery (SHAG) about collaborating on an exhibit of works by local artists to hang throughout the corridors of The Knox Surgical Center, one of the main hubs of the facility. SHAG is located in the heart of Newton County on the historic square, it prides itself on bringing visual arts to the newton community. The artists are excited to be part of this alliance and consider it a perfect opportunity to extend their reach further into the community.

SHAG Artists’ believe, that art can spark joy, healing or simply offer a welcome distraction for the viewer.

There are 12 local artists participating in the appropriately named, SHAG X PIEDMONT EXHIBIT. The works will remain on exhibit thru May 2022.
